Chaffee County Department of Health & Human Services
Chaffee County Mentors is a program of the Prevention Branch (Family & Youth Initiatives) of Chaffee County Department of Health & Human Services. While 75% of our program’s funding comes from grants, the remaining 25% provided by DHHS is critical. The county also provides needed support for payroll, accounting, and insurance.

Dangerous Collective
The Dangerous Collective, a multi-media communications and strategic design planning suite in Salida, offers web support and meeting space for Chaffee County Mentors. They are currently seeking more Collective members interested in renting space and being part of the creative synergy.

Monarch Mountain
Monarch Mountain provides skiing and snowboarding opportunities for Chaffee County Mentors youth through discounted lift tickets and lessons.

Mother’s Bistro
Starting March 2009, Mother’s Bistro is donating 10% of each Thursday’s proceeds to Chaffee County Mentors. On Thursday evenings, Mother’s serves homemade Flat Bread Pizza. They also provide decks of cards and a number of board games – come enjoy “Game Night” with your family or friends. Mother’s Bistro is located at 414 East Main Street in Buena Vista. Outward Bound Wilderness
Outward Bound’s Pinnacle Scholarship Program supports up to 3 Chaffee County Mentors youth each year. Thanks to the support of Outward Bound these youth receive a full scholarship to attend a 2 to 3 week wilderness course.

Salida Citizen
The Salida Citizen is a volunteer project by residents of Salida, Colorado to improve coverage of critical local issues, support smart decision-making, and facilitate positive communication between elected officials, City staff and concerned local citizens.

South Central Racing
South Central Racing (SCR) connects Chaffee County Mentors (CCM) youth with cycling and skiing opportunties through the following initatives:
- SCR and Otero Cyclery donated 4 bicycles to CCM for mentors and youth to check-out for rides around town.
- All CCM youth are required to wear a helmet when riding bikes. Thanks to SCR, our youth are eligible to receive a free bike helmet.
- SCR repairs used bikes and donates them to CCM youth on an ongoing basis.
- SCR memberships and events throughout the year raise funds that are donated to CCM to support our annual group activity at Monarch Mountain.
- SCR members volunteer time to support CCM group activities.
