Youth In Action empowers middle school students as reading buddies and mentors for pre-school children.
Middle Schoolers
Middle school students who are interested in becoming a mentor should email Eleanor or call 719-395-7006 (in Buena Vista) or 719-539-2630 (in Salida). Applications are taken at the beginning of the school year and the program fills up quickly. Occasionally openings become available in the middle of the school year.
Teachers or other interested adults may recommend middle school students to Youth In Action by filling out this form and faxing it to 719-395-7007 (Buena Vista) or 719-539-3537 (Salida).
Pre-schoolers
Parents interested in enrolling their pre-school child in Youth In Action should should email Eleanor or call 719-395-7006 (in Buena Vista) or 719-539-2630 (in Salida). Children are enrolled at the beginning of the school year. Occasionally openings become available during the school year.
